The natural reserve of VENDICARI, with its two wild and pristine beaches and its pink flamingos, is only a 5-minute drive away.

A 5 minutes drive or 15 minutes easy bicycle ride will take you to MARZAMEMI, a traditional fishermen village with an enchanted atmosphere and a distinct Arabic style especially in the main square, “La Balata”. In this little village you will find lots of traditional Sicilian restaurants and bars, where you can enjoy simple Sicilian food, and many shops including souvenir and ceramic shops. During the Cinema Festival in the summer, you can easily spot International actors and film directors.

The baroque village of NOTO is only a 15-minute drive from the house. Its city centre is an UNESCO World Heritage Site and its incredible atmosphere will bring you back in time and will let you discover the best Sicilian baroque arts. Walking in the main street from “Porta Reale” you will see endless breath-taking baroque churches and buildings …

In 15 minutes by car you can reach the southernmost part of Sicily: l’ISOLA DELLE CORRENTI.

A 40 minutes drive will take you to SYRACUSE, Archimede’s town, well known for its Greek history, Ortigia and Santuario Madonna delle Lacrime.

If you like golf, the nearest resort is the MONASTERI GOLF RESORT, one of the biggest golf resort of southeast Sicily, with 18 holes par 71, in a wonderful green area with orange and lemon trees, palms and olive trees.

In 1 hour you can reach other beautiful cities: Scicli, Ragusa and Modica as well as Catania.

In 2 hours you will find yourself climbing the tallest active volcano in Europe: MOUNT ETNA (3350 metres above sea level). A trip to the top of the mountain is a must-do for everyone…

Michelin stars restaurants, bars, wineries in the Syracuse area as well as on Mount Etna are also worth a visit in the nearby area. Try the wine (Nero D’Avola and Moscato di Noto), the ice-creams, the granites and especially the cannolo.. you will not regret it!!!
